This is a ten second exposure showing the booster separation phase of the SpaceX launch from Florida on March 14th, 2021 as seen from the Barnegat Lighthouse in New Jersey. The launch was just a few minutes earlier and here we were a couple thousand miles north of the launch site witnessing this amazing sight. Given the length of the exposure and the estimated speed of about 17,000 miles an hour, the streak of the rocket (thin line) ahead of the large cloud from the booster separation is roughly 47 miles long in the distant twilight sky. As you can tell by the 2nd shot, it was gone in a matter of seconds.
