My son, Ryan, climbing the 2nd pitch of Three Pines in the Gunks. This was the first multi-pitch climb that he belayed on. It was just the two of us. The climbers below him are at the top of the first pitch, about 26 meters above the ground. Ryan was surprised by how much more quickly two people can climb a route. On previous climbs there was always someone else climbing with us (to belay).
