The July/August 2006 issue of American Photo Magazine has published its 2006 Editor ratings. I just received it in the mail today. I will summarize here by categories:
1. Entry Level DSLR - Camera of the Year
Olympus E330 - they raved about this camera, even though it is more expensive than other entry-level DSLRs.
Honorable Mentions: Samsung GX-1L and the Pentax K100D
2. Advanced DSLR's - Camera of the Year
Nikon D200
Honorable mentions: Canon EOS=30D and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L1
3. Professional DSLR's - Camera of the Year
Canon 5D
Honorable mentions: Nikon D2X and the Leica Digital Modul-R/Leica R9
4. High Resolution Advanced EVF Cameras - Camera of the Year
Sony DSC-R1
Honorable Mentions: Fuji S9000, Kodak P880, and Samsung Pro 815
5. Super zoom EVF Cameras - Camera of the Year
Sony DSC-H5
Honorable Mentions: Olympus SP-500, Canon S2 IS, Panasonic DMC-FZ7 and Kodak Z612
6. Digital Compacts - Camera of the Year
Fuji E900
Honorable Mentions: Olympus 810, Nikon P3, Canon S80, Leica D-Lux 2, and the HP R917
7. Ultrathin Compacts - Camera of the Year
Kodak EasyShare V570
