From a trustable source, E-4 (no E-5) will be announced on 17 October, the new camera will have the 12.3 megapixels sensor, but with a better image processor, called TruePic IV Pro, it will provide even better DR and less noise than E-30 and E-620, iso values will be from 100 to 6400 and have a High setting.
Olympus say it have worked on the way the signal is amplified, now in more steps, and this reduce the noise considerably.
The metering system is the same 49-zone multi-pattern, but have a multi spot mode that measures a maximum of 8 points and does de average for you. This is really nice :)
The rest is similar to the E-3, but IS claims 6 EV. Let's see. Focusing system is the same from E-3 but with some improvements, and WB is even better.
Olympus said they have no fear of the number 4, Olympus OM-4 was a very good camera. So no worries about numbers.
The E-4 will have 12 Art filters, and a a second body called E-4t made on titanium, for those who care about this.
The LCD is now 3" HyperCrystal III with 800,000 pixels.
6 FPS now, RAW: 24 frames maximum
This camera will use the same accessories the E-3 use.
Can't tell more, I'm wainting for this camera in October.
